Volunteer your time for the Marietta event of the season - the Marietta Pilgrimage, featured in Southern Living and named a Top 100 Event in North America. It takes over 250 volunteers to make the Tour a success, so join in the fun and sign up today!

As a small token of our appreciation, you will receive one complimentary ticket per shift worked for admission into all six homes during Day Tour hours.

Our 2009 Tour is set to be one of the best ever! We are featuring homes in the Church Street/Cherokee Street Historic District. We hope you will be there with us to share the excitement.

Docents

A docent is a person who is a knowledgeable guide and will provide visitors with commentary of the homes on the pilgrimage tour. If you volunteer to be a docent, you will be given literature about the home you are working in, so that you can become knowledgeable of the history of the home.

Below you will find the shifts that are available for Docents. Please indicate your two preferences when submitting the form. We will contact you to confirm your day and time for volunteering.

  • Food Table – making sure the food is kept stocked and the guest know about the delicious selections
  • Drink Table – making sure the drinks are kept stocked and guests know about the wonderful selections.

Bus

The Bus Docents will ride on the tour buses with the patrons to give an oral history of Marietta to the visitors. Bus Docents should have a strong knowledge of Marietta and its history. Parking may be tight due to construction behind the Root House so you may want to arrive a little earlier than last year.

Buses will start the route at 8:45 AM Saturday and 9:45 AM Sunday.
If you can, please arrive 10-15 minutes before your shift begins.
We will have your complimentary Tour Ticket at the Bus Stop.
