The Patterson-Miller-Brennaman House

The Cash-Cooney House, c. 1907

99 McDonald Street

Built in 1907 by Thomas Dumas on a lot carved out of the Maxwell Addition, the Cash-Cooney House has been a lovely Victorian presence on McDonald Street for over a century. The land, on which it sits, was purchased in 1890 by Julia Drum who later sold it to Mr. Dumas for $460. At one time, the house was divided into separate downstairs & upstairs living spaces. In 1963, Virginia Goodman and W.D. Perry sold the house to Ralph & Lonette Cash, who lived in the house for 40 years. Their granddaughter Leigh Ann Cooney and her husband Jim purchased the home in 2003 from her grandfather’s estate.

The Cooney’s immediately began a major renovation to the property, which transformed by the interior and exterior into a very inviting and comfortable home for their four boys. The boys make the fourth generation of the Cash family line to occupy the house.
